Registration of Italian, EC and international trademarks
The trademark and distinctive signs of product/service can become the subject of contention among companies claiming property or ownership.

The validity of registered industrial property is applicable only to the countries included in the application. In this respect we can speak of:
- Italian domestic trademarks registration for those registered with the Italian Patent and Trademark Office (UIBM) and legally protected on Italian soil;
- EC trademarks registration for those registered with the Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market (OHIM) and legally protected across EU member states;
- international trademarks registration for those registered with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and legally protected in those countries that signed the Madrid Agreement and/or Madrid Protocol;
- foreign trademarks registration for those registered with the national office of a foreign country and legally protected in that country.
