On September 18, 2015, the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) announced the access of the Republic of the Gambia to the Madrid Protocol, which will enter into force in Gambia on 18 December 2015. This makes Gambia the 21st African country to join the Madrid Protocol.
